Rieke Berg, born on the 14th of march 1966 in Bremen.
After stops in London, Munich, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Mallorca,
now over 15 years on Gran Canaria.
Forwarding agent, beautician, rep of a brewery,running a  gallery, production of icesculptures, timesharesales... to name a few...

The only continuity in my life seems to be constant change.

But what always excited me was creating things, what makes me happy, is when these things cause excitement in others.

It seems that I sometimes succeed, might it be with the cashier of the local supermarket who paid off a painting in 14 months or with the governer of the bank of Reserve in Zimbabwe that ordered 8 of my paintings in one go plus one for his office(No, it is NOT a nude that hangs in the bank in Harrare).

Another passion is the ocean, anything to do with water (save when it´s frozen) moves me as well as it calms me. I worked a year on a boat, I go out fishing whenever I can, scuba, kayak, swim or just walk along the beach with the wind in my face.

Thats probably why I instantly felt drawn to Maori designs when starting carving. The reacurring theme of water touches my very soul.

Another side of me is "Rieke the Nerd" from dismanteling the computer to doing my homepage, I tend to be like a Jack Russel with a bone...
